North West

The North-West test will explore how water companies assess solutions to understand what prevents nature-based opportunities from progressing to delivery. It will then test how to overcome these barriers e.g., by improving collaboration between water companies and catchment partnerships, and facilitating joint input into the decision-making processes.

The focus of the NW test is to understand the tools and processes Water Companies use to assess solutions to identify barriers preventing nature-based opportunities from progressing to delivery – including organisational decision making, setting targets and improving collaboration at different project stages.

The hypothesis of the NW test is that collaboration between water companies and catchment partnerships, and joint input into the (pre-) optioneering process, will increase the number of green or hybrid schemes selected as the preferred option, and then progressed to delivery.
